Meet Aimee

Hey, have you met Aimee?

Hey, my name is Aimee :) I am a mummy of three gorgeous kids and have been married to Russ for almost 10 years. My job is to keep them all alive! I also enjoy volunteering in Children and Women’s ministries at Reforming Church.

What do you do for fun?

My idea of fun is a fridge full of food and an afternoon free to cook up a storm for the people I love - the more people the better! Sharing a meal with friends and family brings me great joy.

What’s your favourite song at the moment?

Although some might think it a bit dark, I absolutely love ’Though You Slay Me’ by Shane & Shane featuring John Piper - This song is an anchor to my soul especially in the chaos and pain that life often is.

How has Jesus changed your life, or is changing your life.

I’ve not always known Jesus as a friend, he used to just be the guy on the cross. But when I first heard of his great love for me, which sent him to the cross, that is when things started changing. No longer was I alone, no longer was I riddled with guilt, no longer was I without hope. My friendship with Jesus was bought with his own precious blood as he died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sin. That truth changes everything. It means I am loved, it means I am forgiven and it means I now know the way to have real life and real hope. This good news, the gospel, is always changing me as I learn to live and love like Jesus, to preach grace to myself as I wrestle against sin and selfishness, and as I hold out this truth to others.

What’s your favourite Bible verse?

Ephesians 2:8-10

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For  we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Rev. Russ Grinter

Russ serves as the Pastor (Teaching Elder) of Reforming Presbyterian Church in East Bendigo, and serves under care of North Western Presbytery.

Russ is weak, but Jesus is strong (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). Russ gladly boasts of his weaknesses by preaching, writing, and speaking the gospel - because Jesus changes everything.
