Psalms Mini Series

For the rest of October we’ll dwell with our God by listening to his voice in these pastoral psalms.

For the rest of October we’ll dwell with our God by listening to his voice in these pastoral psalms. These three psalms will be a pastoral word for our hearts.

Sunday 15 October | Taking Refuge in the Saviour (Psalm 2)

We start by hearing from Psalm 2, where we see from the perception of the nations, through to God’s eye view, what God the Son sees - so that we get to rejoice with trembling.

I pray that seeing Jesus as he really is, not as elected leader or a people’s choice award, but as King - will indeed change everything for us.

Sunday 22 October | Why Are You Downcast, Oh My Soul? (Psalm 42-43)

In Psalms 42-43 we receive help for our minds and heart in a life where we are often only listening to ourselves, when instead we could be speaking the gospel to ourselves.

Sunday 29 October | Through the Valley of That Shadow (Psalm 23)

We hear from that most famous Psalm 23, where we see how the Lord our Shepherd leads us to contentment, gives comfort when we are fearful, and provides for us in the face of trouble.

(Also on that day, our Annual Congregational Meeting)
