Community with Humility (Philippians 2:1-11)

Group Guides | Sharing the gospel, sharing our lives

(1 Thessalonians 2:8)

By way of introduction…

  1. Just for fun, could you have a go at giving us a “humblebrag”?

  2. For us as listeners, what made it a “humblebrag”?

Read Philippians 2:1-11

  1. From this passage, discuss how you would describe to someone what God is like in Christ.

  2. What do you think is Paul’s purpose in writing Philippians 2:1-11?

  3. How does Jesus change our mindset about humility?

  4. Using the words and phrases of this passage, could we write up some mottos of practical applications for our church-life?

  5. Imagine what could our community of church look like if we believed this part of God’s word, and behaved in this way?

  6. Now imagine how the Lord might use our church for a community of humility in Bendigo and beyond?

Pray for one another of our church family, that we would be a community of humility.
