When Satan tempts you to despair, when he accuses you day and night, what you need in these moments is to know what is so true and who is for you. Jesus Christ is.

God will nourish his church in this time of advent, in this time of waiting for the return of Christ. As we turn to the table of the Lord, we who believe in the Lord Jesus are going to be nourished by the gospel that sets the Christmas table of the church.

The trumpets of judgement are a big snooze alarm, waking up people who have not repented. An alarm 6 times over, before the 7^th and everything of this age is over. And so now is the time for the church to bring the gospel into a waking world. For being on this side of history won’t last forever, there is a new age to come where evil is over, and Christ will reign over all forever and ever.

Reforming Church, trust him today and take comfort in him for tomorrow – for it is only a little while longer. He is going to right all the wrongs. He is going to bring justice, nothing will stop that bolting horse. He has a plan, and he is planning on you being sealed in it.

Jesus opens the scroll, and he says, I got this. It is done. The glory of God ought to undo us as sinners, and the glory of Christ ought to redo us as his redeemed people. Friends, fellow sinners, weep no more and worship him!

Do you know what it is like to have failed, again and again? What about three times? Where do you go when you have failed?

When we are struggling in this world of worship, looking into the throne room of heaven gives is perspective. We know who is worthy of worship, and we know how to relate to anyone else and anything else under that higher throne. And that perspective stirs us in a response of, praise.

“There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: ‘Mine!” ~ Abraham Kuyper

You can see what Kuyper means, you can see what the Scriptures say, you can see what Reformed theology believes - that all of life is always Reforming by the will and wonder of Christ, by his grace to us.

God’s plan is not for there to be two peoples of God, that there are not different dispensations or different peoples of God - it’s why being Reformed means we are not dispensationalists.

Repentance is re-experiencing the passionate love of Christ for you, so you want to passionately love him in return. For a lukewarm church that experiences repentance, instead of Jesus spitting them out of his mouth - with his mouth he eats with them.

More than seeing life around us, we feel it. We feel the weight of the burdens inside us, and you feel, you fear, that your faith will fail. Today, Jesus speaks to you.

Revival is never manufactured by man, it is a glorious and powerful work of the Holy Spirit.

Churches can be so tempted not to see the very things that are subtle, things that become like Mad Cow Disease in our lives, things that become part of our work lives, our lifestyle, where even our social life sees some of us unfollow Jesus.

What would Satan do to get you to stumble?

We get to Nike it. In some ways, you could sum up the Book of Revelation in a word, and that word appeared around Asia Minor on stone images, just like it appears on our clothing (for different reasons). It is the word, “Nike”.

So what if our hearts have lost our first love?

We hear, and we pray.

We call out to him, in our weariness, even in the place where we have fallen – FOR he hears you, he hears the prayers of Reforming,

his church- and the Spirit of Christ can renew our repentant hearts, and rekindle that love.

For when we call out to him, and when we see his love for us conquered, won victory, Nike over our sins…love is found.

“Outwit, Outplay, Outlast…” Jesus Christ is risen one with us in the Tribulation, and with him we will outlast.

Reading Revelation will be a lifestyle changer for you and me, for us as a church.
